First Coronary Bypass Surgery at Nazilli State Hospital
A coronary artery bypass surgery was performed for the first time at Nazilli State Hospital, within the framework of inter-institutional collaboration.
Thanks to a joint effort between the cardiovascular surgery team from Ankara Bilkent City Hospital’s High-Specialty Cardiovascular Hospital and the healthcare staff at Nazilli State Hospital, the patient was able to receive treatment in Aydın, eliminating the need for a transfer to another city.
On September 28, 2026, 61-year-old Elif Koşar underwent a coronary angiography following complaints of difficulty during physical exertion and chest tightness. After the examinations, the patient’s coronary vascular structure was jointly reviewed by the cardiovascular surgery teams from both hospitals. Following a multidisciplinary assessment, it was decided that the patient should undergo coronary artery bypass surgery.
