Mother Friendly Hospital Program

Purpose: It is aimed to ensure that expectant mothers have access to safe, high-quality birth services by increasing the quality and quantity of maternal health services. The mother, baby and family-friendly model is based on the creation of single-person "Birth Units" based on privacy. It is aimed to encourage normal birth and reduce intervention rates. With a suitable companion, pregnant women should be able to feel comfortable and at home, and have freedom of movement.

In our hospital;
    
   * 5 TDL Rooms,
   * 5 Patient Rooms,
   * There is 1 Emergency Birth Room. Additionally, all our rooms are for single use.
                                         


1. It is the right of all expectant mothers to receive safe and quality pregnancy monitoring and birth services.

- It is the right of all expectant mothers to receive safe and quality pregnancy monitoring and birth services. In our hospital, services are provided by taking these rights into consideration.

2. Necessary consultancy services should be provided during pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum periods.
- Pregnant women are given training in our PREGNANCY SCHOOL with groups formed according to their week. Necessary birth support and consultancy is provided at birth, and breastfeeding consultancy services are also provided in the postnatal period.

3. Polyclinic, education, counseling and birth services in institutions must comply with the standards determined by the Ministry's legislation.
- In our institution, polyclinic-education, consultancy and birth services are provided in accordance with the standards of the Ministry of Health.

4. Privacy requirements should be met with care, and hygiene and comfort standards should be kept high.

- Expectant mothers can have any companion they want with them. Our expectant mothers spend the prenatal, birth and postnatal periods in the TDL rooms reserved for them, taking care of their privacy and receiving the physical and psychological support they need.

5. Interventions that are not evidence-based should not be implemented routinely.

- Our pregnant women in labor are not restricted in their movements and are given high-energy, watery foods at certain hours. Interventions that are not evidence-based are not implemented. Pregnant and puerperal follow-ups are carried out in accordance with follow-up protocols prepared according to scientific criteria.

6. Human resources and logistic support required for service delivery should be at optimum level.

- Prenatal, birth and postnatal services are provided by our physicians and midwives who have received the necessary training and are experts in their fields.

7. In emergency obstetric cases, referral criteria must be followed.
-One of the operating rooms is reserved for birth services to be used in emergency obstetric interventions. If the expectant mother needs to be referred to another institution, her condition is stabilized and the referral is made via 112. 

8. Birth service should be mother and baby focused.

-Our babies stay with their mothers after birth. Immediately after birth, mother-baby unity is ensured by providing skin-to-skin contact between the mother and the baby.

9. Trainings to strengthen the knowledge and skill capacity of service providers should be planned and implemented.
-In-service training is provided for employees. The necessary infrastructure has been created so that our employees can access reference materials 24 hours a day.

10. Necessary records regarding the services provided should be kept and analyzed at regular intervals and used in the development of services.
-Our statistical data are analyzed and published on our website nazillidh.saglik.gov.tr and are kept open to access by all institutions and citizens.

Within the scope of the program, joint studies continue with the General Directorate of Public Hospitals of Turkey and the General Directorate of Health Services. As a result of the studies, hospitals that meet the criteria will be given the title of Mother Friendly Hospital. In this context, our hospital has been registered as a Mother-Friendly Hospital.
