Rabies Prophylaxis Training Held at Nazilli State Hospital
Infectious disease specialist Dr. Fatma Yekta Ürkmez organized a Rabies Prophylaxis Training for emergency room physicians and vaccination unit nurses at Nazilli State Hospital.
The training provided detailed information on the transmission routes of rabies, risky contact situations, proper wound care practices, and current vaccination protocols. Dr. Fatma Yekta Ürkmez provided information on the prophylactic treatment process that should be applied after contact, using case examples.
The event aimed to update healthcare professionals' knowledge and enable them to respond more quickly and accurately to potential cases. Attendees shared information by asking questions about the cases they encountered at the end of the training.
Nazilli State Hospital Chief Physician Dr. Necati Akkaya stated that such training sessions will continue periodically and that efforts to improve patient safety and the competence of healthcare personnel will continue.
