Nazilli State Hospital Opens an Information Booth for National Phenylketonuria Day.

A meaningful event prioritizing public health and aiming to raise awareness was organized at Nazilli State Hospital on the occasion of National Phenylketonuria (PKU) Day. In this context, an information booth was set up to draw attention to Phenylketonuria disease.

The event, which was held with the participation of hospital management, Child Health and Diseases Specialists, as well as midwives working in the Maternity and Gynecology Department, provided detailed information to citizens about Phenylketonuria disease. Visitors to the booth were informed about the causes, symptoms and treatment process of the disease through brochures and visuals.

Emphasizing that early diagnosis is of vital importance, specialist physicians stated that this disease can be detected with the heel blood screening test performed immediately after birth and that children can continue their lives as healthy individuals with appropriate diet treatment.

The booth attracted great attention from citizens throughout the day and many people were informed about Phenylketonuria and the importance of early diagnosis of the disease was reminded once again.
