Nazilli State Hospital is successfully performing “Peripheral Nerve Blocks”.
Two patients who applied to our hospital recently underwent surgery with the “Peripheral Nerve Blocks” method. Our patients were discharged after the successful application performed by our Anesthesia and Reanimation Specialist Dr. Hamza Nakır, Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialists Op. Dr. Alper Günay and Op. Dr. Mehmet Yücel.
What is the “Peripheral Nerve Blocks” method used in the surgery that our patients were also satisfied with?
Peripheral nerve blocks are a medical procedure that temporarily blocks the pain transmission of nerves. Nerve blocks are a method applied by using anesthetic drugs injected to numb the nerves that feed a certain body part (e.g. arm, hand, leg or foot) with the help of USG imaging. Local anesthetic injection blocks pain signals and ensures that the applied area is numb and immobile.
Nerve blocks can be used instead of general anesthesia in some cases, and this method can be especially beneficial for patients with medical conditions by reducing the risks that can arise from general anesthesia. This method also increases patient comfort during the postoperative recovery process and reduces the need for painkillers.
