Organ Donation Saved Lives.
The organs of a 26-year-old patient who suffered brain death in Aydın have become hope for 4 patients.
Despite all interventions, the patient, who was treated at Nazilli State Hospital due to a traffic accident he had 13 days ago, was determined to have suffered brain death by our relevant branch physicians on 16.09.2024.
As a result of the meetings held with the patient's family by the Nazilli State Hospital organ transplantation coordinator, the family approved the organ donation and informed the Ministry of Health. As a result of the planning made with the İzmir Regional Coordination Center (BKM), it was decided that the organs would be sent to patients waiting for organ donation in Aydın, İzmir, and Antalya provinces.
Aydın Provincial Health Director Dr. Eser ŞENKUL expressed his gratitude by expressing that the grieving family of our citizen whose organs were donated approved the organ donation and that thanks to their sensitivity and exemplary behavior, a new hope for life will arise for patients waiting for organ transplantation. Drawing attention to the importance of organ donation, our Provincial Health Director wished God's mercy to our citizen who gave hope to 4 people by donating organs, and patience and condolences to his grieving family.
